What happens on your phone

Redline Survival processes phone sensor readings locally to provide field instruments. It does not have a user account system, advertising, analytics, tracking SDKs, or direct network access. The publisher does not receive your sensor readings or field records.

Location

If you enable location, the app uses Android location providers to show your position, accuracy, and altitude. You can save waypoints and record a trail while the app is visible. Location updates and trail recording stop when the app leaves the foreground. Saved waypoints and trail points stay in local app storage until you delete them or uninstall the app.

Map and appearance preferences

The worldwide overview map and its place index are bundled with the app. Panning, zooming, location display, and place searches do not send requests to a map provider. Saved map views remain in private local storage and can be deleted inside the app. Your light or dark appearance preference is also stored locally and retained until changed or Android app storage is cleared.

Microphone, camera, and activity permissions

If you enable the sound meter, microphone samples are processed in memory to calculate relative sound level. Audio is not recorded to a file, retained, or transmitted. Camera permission is used only for flashlight control; the app does not take photographs or video. Optional physical-activity permission enables the step counter. Protected body sensors are not read.

Notes, checklist, and hardware information

Your field notes, waypoint labels, and checklist selections are stored in private local app storage. The app reads hardware sensor names, vendors, and capabilities to show the available instruments. It does not read advertising identifiers, IMEI, contacts, or your inventory of installed apps.

Sharing and exports

The app only shares coordinates or exports a field log when you choose that action. You select the receiving app or file destination through Android. The selected destination may have its own privacy practices. Exported or shared copies are not removed when you clear data inside Redline.

First aid and external links

First-aid reference cards are bundled with the app. Your searches and chosen topics are not sent to the publisher. Source links open in your browser, where the source site’s privacy practices apply. The phone-dialer shortcut opens your dialer without placing a call; calls you choose to make are handled by your phone and carrier. Any personal information you put in field notes stays local unless you export or share it.

Retention and deletion

Live sensor readings are held temporarily for display. Audio samples are discarded after processing. Saved local records remain until you delete them using the app’s Settings, clear the app’s storage in Android, or uninstall it. App cloud backups and device-to-device transfers are disabled. Sample mode uses a separate local log; clear each mode separately to delete both.

Your choices

Location, microphone, flashlight, and step-counter access are optional. You can turn features off in the app and revoke permissions in Android settings. Without a required permission or sensor, the related feature is unavailable; the rest of the app remains usable.
